Inspired by the lack of of people of color in dermatology photos used for education and machine learning datasets, Instaderm is an Android app meant to build a database where dermatologists can submit their own “cases” that encourage greater representation.
Building upon an existing code base, our group’s focus was on refactoring code, emphasizing good software design and code quality, and continually adding new features such as user profiles in an Agile approach. Besides contributing to refactoring and new features, my role involved bottom-lining Git version control between team members.
